Evolving a brand and revolutionizing Tampa nightlife.
When I first met with the owners at Lit they had only been open at their new location for a couple of months. After a successfully launching a Super Bowl Sunday event, the entire Lit team was able to celebrate two wins that day; their hometown Bucs winning their first Championship in nearly two decades, and the confirmation that they were a force in Tampa nightlife.
Lit created their own culture when they transitioned from the traditional ‘boys club’ atmosphere of traditional cigar lounges by implementing policy and service changes that that created an environment that could be enjoyed by all.
Lit Cigar and Martini Lounge is an upscale lounge in the heart of Downtown Tampa. They offer live music, special guest performances, and VIP service. I was given the opportunity to help build the brand from the ground up. Lit represents the next generation of cigar and martini lounges. We feature a powerful combination of unmatchable atmosphere and exemplary VIP service, giving us a unique vibe that is welcoming to both men and women.
Through the implementation of branding guidelines, I was able to create digital content, marketing campaigns, and a website that brought their vision to life. We also installed a new CRM system that streamlines the customer booking experience as well as collects data for re-targeting and analysis.

Social Media serves as Lit’s primary marketing tool. Our team has helped them achieve an average of 13K unique accounts reached organically every month.
In order to adapt to instagrams push toward reels, I pushed our team to adapt by creating motion graphic flyers using Instagram’s music feature to increase exposure through the instagram algorithm. Are efforts with Instagram has led to a 105% increase in their following compared to a 1 year prior.
We also created campaigns around the success of local pro-sports teams to drive traffic through sporting events. This includes an ad featured in this years Buccaneers’ Football program at every game. We’ve already seen an increase in traffic on Sundays, especially following home football games.
With emphasis on highlighting the lit experience, the focus for the development of their online presence was continuity. We also needed to achieve higher placement on search engines like Google by back-linking with reputable sites and driving organic traffic from social media we were able to reach our goal. Currently, Organic google searches serve as 53% of traffic, with social media and direct traffic both contributing around 22%. This demonstrates a balance between maintaining returning customers as well as reaching new ones.
When lit wanted to streamline their booking process, they asked us to research a solution that was easy to use and could be used by multiple people so their staff could stay on the same page. I was able to research and implement an industry specific CRM tool that was coded into the website which allows for customers to make reservations and browse events. The software is connected to an app that employees use to access and retarget customers that have subscribed. This has led to over 1,500 vetted leads that can be retargeted.
Throughout this process, I kept a focus on following the branding guidelines previously established and finding more ways to grow the business and reach new customers!
